WEB BROWSER DISPLAYED ON TV VIA SMP 100

Hello all, does anyone know of a CONCISE procedure for sending my web browser content to my TV via my Sony SMP 100?

I am moderately techy, but I am not a programmer thus a strictly A to Z procedure without a lot of variables would work great; i.e. do this, this, and this...period!

I found a procedure online that was too complex for my finite intellect and got lost in the first paragraph. I DO recall the process involved using VLC to accomplish what i wish to do, but again i got lost really quick.

If anyone can help me make this work it would be most appreciated...may even treat you to Rosco's Chicken and Waffles when you come to Los Angeles!

FYI, I am running Win7 Home Premium x86 3 GRam, Dual Core Intel Pentium using both IE and FF browsers...lots of free disc space.

Regards!

Two options, streem your entire desktop to your tv http://wiki.serviio.org/doku.php?id=stream_pc

Or, if there are specific sites that you want to use, have a look to see if there is a plugin for them so that Serviio can extract the content directly. This is usually a better option.

The step by step process is simple and if you reread the wiki you will see that it is 1. Install VLC, 2 Install screen Filter, 3 install audio filter, 4 run the bat, 5,setup serviio to read the stream. I can't make it simpler than that.

Thank you Will and jhb50 for your input.

@jhb50 It sounds very easy when you put it that way. I think it is all of the extraneous explanations that lost me. If its as short and sweet as you say then there's no need for two pages right?

Anyway thanks guys you're the greatest!

Hello all,

I finally had some time to get back to the Wiki procedure for streaming my desktop via my SMP-N100.

I got to paragraph 11 and the text begins to speak of editing a BAT file, however nowhere in the previous 10 paragraphs is there a mention of how to create a BAT file or exactly what it should contain...line by line.

I read the remaining paragraphs and I understand why the bat is used, otherwise one would have to change these settings manually on every occasion that desktop streaming is required vs times when VLC needs to be used for other purposes.

That being said, could someone post the syntax for the BAT file mentioned in the Wiki, and also can someone post a BAT that would reset VLC back to my original settings after I am done streaming?

Thanks in advance!

BAT files are basic windows. Google it if you want more info on BATs

The bat file is contained in the wiki http://wiki.serviio.org/doku.php?id=stream_pc

It is only effective for that invokation of VLC. No reset is required.
