Hey Guys,
I've looked through the forum and haven't found the answer I'm really looking for - I have, however, found some very smart and brilliant profile mods - you guys are smart as hell - Thank you!
I'm from the U.K, I got the s370 a few years back and I recently started trying to stream MKV's, with subtitles in the same folder, with the same name - but there was no subtitles when I watched the MKV.
MKV's play flawlessly, I just wondered what you were all doing for subtitles with MKV's? Is there a way to play them without encoding entirely again?
Thank you for all the other posts and useful help!

Do you really search ?
There is a sticky topic about Sony BDP devices here :
viewtopic.php?f=11&t=2004And if you search about "subtitle", you'll find :
- Subtitles are not supported in MPEG Program Streams (VOB files from DVDs). The player supports these from disc, but not via DLNA. European and Canadian players support subtitles in Matroska files but this is disabled in Serviio by default for other reasons explained below. European and Canadian players do support DivX XSUB subtitles but this is disabled by default in the device profile to allow US region players to play AVI files. Read on to find out how to enable this.
- SRT subtitle files are not supported.
- If MKV subtitle support is vital to you, you have a European or Canadian player, and you understand the native Matroska playback problems described above, then you can remove all matroska matches from the transcoding section of the Sony BDP device profile.
Pffff

I was going to address the hint of a somewhat-assy attitude in your reply, but I'll sail past it.
Sail past it.
Thanks.

Sorry for my attitude, but I feel sometimes always repeat same answers.
Yet we create sticky topics..

Hello
I do not if answered, I searched but:
¿Is there any way to see subtitles in my Bravia without hardcoding?
I saw that .SRT are NOT supported.
Is there any SUPPORTED format for this, or we shall wait for Sony to update their player?
Thank you
