Hi folks.

I upgraded to 1.0.1.

Now my SONY 2011 - won't play MPEG2TS-h264-dts anymore.

What went potentially wrong ???

Any hint is appreciated.

That could be due to DTS audio transcoding crash or h264 remux crash due to video filter (h264_annex4).
Could you enable detailed logging and extract the ffmpeg command line used for transcoding ?

You need to manually run the ffmpeg command from the log with all the options so that we can see the output of ffmpeg when transcoding

Ooups sorry...

Are you sure you execute exactly the same command line, because on debug log we see that ffmpeg crashed.
Are you sure to have enough free space on tmp folder ?

PS: Why does this h264 was transcoded to mpeg2video, its probably a h264 profile level >4.1, could you provide MediaInfo tool result to confirm?

Please also confirm which user you run serviio under, and what the permissions of /media/music/ and /media/music/Serviio/ are, specially can the serviio user write to it. That may explain why running it manually works, but not when serviio runs it.

Below is the rule chosen by default profile.xml (yesterday I've been testing with a sligthly adapted rule - because I thought "dca" trasncoding was missing.

Code:: ffmpeg -fflags +genpts -i /media/video/video/1. Test/BDMV/STREAM/00006.m2ts -y -copyts -c:v copy -vbsf h264_mp4toannexb -c:a ac3 -b:a 384k -ac 2 -map 0:0 -map 0:1 -sn -f mpegts /media/win/Serviio/transcoding-temp-38-sony2011-ORIGINAL.stf

Maybe there are two problems:

1. When running above from command line ffmpeg didn't like spaces in the directory name.

After tying without space:

2. FFMPEG issued following error:

Code:: Failed to open bitstream filter h264_mp4toannexb for stream 0 with codec copy: Invalid argument

You have to set path under "" like this:

Guess what.

I figured all that before you sent your answer.

Always good to step into known bugs. I probably should have better stayed with 0.6x

Now. What to do about it??

Yesterday I managed to get around the issue when changing profile.xml. ( Result was the earlier posted ffmpeg commandline). What would be the best setting / workaround ???

And still there seems o be a problem that Serviio has an issue with the path?!?!? Otherwise there wouldn't be the related message in the log !?!?!
Because the path message remained even when I changed the profile.xml which led to the working transcoding line.

Wokaround could be to transcode MPEGTS-H264-DTS to MPEGTS-MPEG2-AC3.
Or wait for the next 1.0.2

When serviio write the command line to the debug file, "" are removed (don't know why), so when you copy/past to a local windows terminal, you have to add manually the "" for path.
So there are no problem when spaces are present to the pathfile.

Below my profile diff. This and removing the blank from the path solved the problem.

Basically I ran into two issues.

There seems to be an issue with the parser! How can I get this under control, without changeing all my pathnames !??!

Just to re-itterate what Illico said. Having spaces in the path is NOT a problem. When Serviio runs ffmpeg it puts quotes around the path automatically, however, these quotes aren't shown in the log so when using a command from a log, you need to add the quotes yourself. There is no need to move/rename files/directories to removes spaces from the path.
