Hi-
I'm new at this, trying to watch some movies with my Sony Bravia KDL-55NX720 connected to Sony BD Player / SMP BDV-E580 from my iMac 2.93 Ghz Intel Core i7 as a server.

This is connected to a router 2Wire from at&t with an Ethernet cable, I downloaded the Serviio software on the iMac. The Sony players have no problem reading the server (iMac) wireless from the router (2Wire) but most of the movies stops for a few seconds or better yet it shows frame by frame not for too long though, but still is kinda of annoying.

Is there any way to have this streaming or the transfer wireless be a little faster?

Thanks,

Whats connected to the router via a ethernet cable ? The tv ? Bluray player ? PC ?

Your Mac is more that up to the job, your end devices as well but you mention Wifi and I'd say that is where your problem is, your running out of bandwidth.

Running a cabled network is cheapest / most bandwdith happy setup. The next option is Homeplugs, Amazon sell them very cheap just make sure you get 200mbps or faster so you have enough bandwidth. If you want to stick with your Wifi setup, have you got Wifi N router? 150 or 300 mbps ? Have you tried repositioning the router ? Ifs its not N, only G then your going to struggle no matter what. Check what channel your wifi is broadcast on, make sure its clear from your neighbours to minimise interference.
