No Sound on Sony KDL-40ex723 online streams

Hi there,
Been playing with the new version (very nice!!) on my sony2011 but could get no sound out of any of the online streams I used (Coolsport/Skysportsplus) but worked ok when using the BD player profile. Found that changing the following line under the sony2012 profile in the onlinetranscoding sectiom in profiles.xml
<Matches container="flv" vCodec="h264" />
to
<Matches container="flv" vCodec="h264" contentType="vod" /> and now it works. Couldn't seem to be able to set is seperately for sony2011
Also had some issues with screen being squeltched vertically. Changing the following in sony2012 fixed this
<Video targetContainer="mpeg" targetVCodec="mpeg2video" targetACodec="ac3" aBitrate="384" DAR="16:9" forceInheritance="true">
to
<Video targetContainer="mpeg" targetVCodec="mpeg2video" targetACodec="ac3" aBitrate="384" forceInheritance="true">
and that works too! Thought i'd share it.

Is it an US or European model ? Do you try "Sony 2012 US" profile ?

European model, UK in fact, had the problem with the prevoius version but this sorted it, more than happy to test anything else you want to throw my way! Merry christmas and all that jazz!

Sorry for my english, but is it solved ? do you use serviio 1.1 version ?

I am using serviio 1.1. Without 2 changes to profiles.xml, there is no sound on online streams and certain streams have a really strange aspect ratio (like 16:9 picture in a 16.9 picture). The 2 changes fix these 2 issues. I had to put the fix in the sony2012 profile that was carried through as I couldn't make the fix work in the sony2011 section of profiles.xml.

It's strange, are you sure its a european model, you have exactly same behavior than US serie model, with which we had to create a specific profile.

100% it's a uk model, purchased from sony uk (with a freeview hd tuner). I can confirm that it doesn't work with the sony2011US profile either. As I said, if you want me to test anything else, please let me know.

moved to sony section...
Sorry but I don't know why you need to modify profile like this, but thanks shared this experience. I probably need more testing, but I really don't have time now....

I had the same issue on those online streams, other streams were working fine. Anyway just applied the fix and seems all good.

Could you provide "ffmpeg -i" of such online stream?
Could you also try with AV Media Controller (selected Sony Bravia profile on serviio console), the resources mime-type provided for such online stream ?

Hello!
1st post so must get in ... Muchos Serviio Love..
https://bitbucket.org/xnejp03/serviio/i ... y-profilesWas this fix actually commited into 1.1, as I just updated and lost sound on online resources again, I rolled back to the 0.6 profile and all was well again. There seems to be a few threads kicking around pointing to the same issue, so I'm guessing either it wasn't commited, or the fix doesn't work for all Sony versions. I've got a Sony Bravia NX723.
EDIT: Reading the bitbucket more carefully specifically we are talking about
Illico
Also need to transcode aac audio with online content for 2011 models viewtopic.php?f=11&t=6858 (newborn edited link for correctness)
26 days ago Then Zip talks about creating new tickets so I'm unsure whether this ticket being marked as resolved was for the original issue.. my guess is yes though!
Step's i'll take
1) make these manual changes to the latest profile as a test
2) try with the original new profile again and debugging enabled.
Best Regards.

The change to the audio handling on Sony Bravias between 0.6.2 and 1.0 was to allow native playback of AAC audio (rather than force transcoding of everything to AC-3).
This works fine on 2009 Bravia and my 2010 model and owners of more recent models had reported successful testing.
Perhaps it doesn't work in some regions; Europe or the US (so PAL or NTSC)
Perhaps AAC is not supported with livre streams...
Or problem comes from an
HE-AAC which the Sony devices might not support?
I'm a bit stuck and I do not know how to fix the Sony Bravia profile.
newborn wrote:Then Zip talks about creating new tickets so I'm unsure whether this ticket being marked as resolved was for the original issue.. my guess is yes though!
creating new ticket is about Sony BDP US profile...

The last modification ( come with 1.1 version) was to add mime-type rename process:
AVC_TS_MP_SD_MPEG1_L3xxxxbut I did not notice that
AVC_TS_MP_HD_MPEG1_L3xxxx also existed, so could you try with following modification :
- Code:
<MediaFormatProfiles>
<!-- rename native WMA formats to those supported by the tv -->
<MediaFormatProfile mime-type="audio/x-ms-wma" name="WMABASE">WMA_BASE</MediaFormatProfile>

Sorry where does this go? I guessed I should replace the MediaFormatProfiles in the 2012 profile with which the 2011 is extended on? Is that right? I tried that and rebooted my computer but the serviio service is not presenting anymore.

I think you need to start a new thread for aspect ratios. Also are you saying other online plugins work and those specific ones don't? I think we're talking about a profile issue here and the source stream format is the issue not the plugin, although it would be good to confirm what the source stream format is, I think the suggestion was to find out the source stream and use ffmpeg to debug it.

Yes, that could be fine, I need your help, because I could not reproduce the issue with my 2010 model.

Debug the url out and then ffmpeg? Yep my models 2011(UK) 40-NX723. Will try it after my food which is ready now

I'm here to help too. From what I remember it is an FLV with mp3 mono audio. I have been testing lots of streams and video files. Also found I had some issues with avi files (xvid with mp4a audio), using the sony2011us fixed that issue. More than happy to test anything you want.
