Hi:)

I have laptop Asus with Wi-Fi card (PC 4 years old). I can connect to my Sony KDL-40HX750 by Wi-Fi (laptop show on wi-fi connection list that is connected to Sony TV). I have Windows XP (with installed Serviio server), but I haven't router. It is possible make avaliable my media files from laptop to TV without using router (directly)? Serviio doesn't see my TV on avaliable devices list.

Best regards. :)

You would have to setup your laptop wifi as an ad hock access point.
For example:

How it is done depends on your OS

Hi again!

I created ad hoc access point on my laptop with usage instructions from this side. Now my TV found SSID this ad hoc access point, but can't connect. Maybe I should set something else in TV? Please instruct me step by step what I should set in TV.

Best regard. :)

It sounds like you need to enter the proper wireless security info into the TV, it has to match the password you defined when you setup ad hoc on your laptop.

honestly.. it would probably would be easier to get a $10 wireless router or switch off ebay.
