In theory that should play just fine. It's H.264 video and AC3 audio, both which should play on an LG TV. Sometimes you can simply remux a file and get it to play. You can download a free program called tsMuxeR and run it through that and see if that clears it up. It would take a couple of minutes to remux, as it's not processing the video or audio in any way.

If that doesn't work, you could try using Handbrake and completely reprocess the file. You can leave the video and audio alone, or change to different codecs. Handbrake is also free, but it does take some time to recode the file.

Thanks for you answer, I have already tested with handbrake before and I wasn't able to fix this issue. Tried mp4, h.264, aac audio, no subtitles, even lower bitrate around 8Mb/s and the problem is still there so I have no clue why because other mkv with similar codecs seem to work flawlessly. I have even tried with different profiles on serviio, the generic one is usually good for me but this isn't working for some reason.

I will try with tsMuxeR anyway to see if its of use for this case but I am afraid it won't solve the problem if handbrake didn't work.

If Handbrake was unable to resolve it, my guess is there's some sort of DRM embedded in the video. DRM is digital rights management, and if it has that, it's likely only playable with whatever it was designed for. I noticed your file is in a folder labeled Torrents. Assuming you downloaded from some site, it's highly likely that DRM is somehow involved, and without knowing exactly where it came from it's impossible to know if it can be cracked. Some video files with DRM can be unlocked, such as iTunes video. But you have to know what it is before you can determine if it can be unlocked.

Following this DRM theory does it make sense that I can play it on my computer then ? I would find it weird to be honest. I have tried tsMuxer and noticed that the program fails to recognise the spanish audio track, could audio bitrate be the problem ? After using tsMuxer the movie is playable on the TV , I have to check if I can fix this audio issue in handbrake.

Problem solved, for whatever reason as I said before, one of the audio tracks was the issue, it was 5.1 with multiple tracks inside it so I ended up converting the audio to aac with audacity and then I added it back to the mkv with mkvtoolnix. I tried different combinations with tsmuxer but the audio wasn't playing on tv , that's why I ended up using mkvtoolnix. Thanks for the help

Nah, the audio bitrate wouldn't have been an issue to the best of my knowledge. I'm glad you found a way around it. A bit of work, but probably worth it in the end for ya!

Hi, I had the same problem with my LG and finally found the reason/solution (I had this issue several times)
It's the audio Delay being more then 10 seconds ->

Delay : 10 s 300 ms

Every Audio Delay in a MKV with more than 4-digits (in milliseconds) seems to give the playback error...
My fix for this is to extract the respective AC3-track and fix the delay by adding it as silence to the beginning of the track using eac3to.

Example:

eac3to your_spanish.ac3 spanish_delayfix.ac3 +10300ms -silence

Now re-add the Audio-Track (MKVToolNix) and the MKV will play fine.
