Hi everyone!

I've finally had to kiss my good ol' Samsung goodbye and plump for this model as I got a cracking near mint condition one from an auction site.

Anyway, all is well and it's playing all my content without incident, however I cannot seem to find an option to turn off subtitles in the videos. It seems that it is hard coding them (maybe grabbing external and transcoding) where this did not happen with my Samsung.

Any iedas?

There's only one setting in Serviio that forces captions, and that's the burn-in option. If you don't have that enabled in the Serviio console, it has to be a setting somewhere in the TV menu. I don't have an LG TV so can't help there, sorry.

I have this problem on many of my HD videos on my LG OLED65C8P with Captions set to off in the TV settings. The only fix I have found that works for me is to use MKVToolNix to re-encode the movie with the Sub files removed. I upgraded from a Samsung 46C6800 which didn't show the captions that were hard coded into the movies.
