Re: LG 47LW6500

I'm seeing the same problem on my 55LW550T (UK version of the 55LW5600) with Serviio on both Linux and MacOSX.
I've also tried minidlna and PS3 Media Server with the TV, and they both work fine, so I'm thinking that there must be an issue with Serviio.
I really want to get Serviio working, as it provides the best transcoding solution, due to LGs refusal to license DTS.

I'd be happy to provide any debugging information that's required to try and track this problem down. Just let me know what information is needed.

Re: LG 47LW6500

I'll need someone to run this test:

1) install Intel tools and run Device Spy
2) Find Serviio in the device list and find ContentDirectory / Browse() method
3) Right-click -> Invoke Action
4) insert this into the fields:
ObjectID: 0
BrowseFlag: BrowseMetadata
Filter: @id,@parentID,@restricted,@childCount,dc:title,dc:creator, upnp:artist,upnp:class,dc:date,upnp:album,upnp:genre,res,res@size,res@duration,res@bitrate,res@resolution,res@protocolInfo,res@nrAudioChannels,res@sampleFrequency,upnp:albumArtURI,upnp:albumArtURI@dlna:profileID
StartingIndex: 0
RequestedCount: 0
5) Click Invoke
6) Post here contents of field Result, NumberReturned, TotalMatches
7) repeat steps 4 - 6 with these values:
ObjectID: 0
BrowseFlag: BrowseDirectChildren
Filter: @id,@parentID,@restricted,@childCount,dc:title,dc:creator, upnp:artist,upnp:class,dc:date,upnp:album,upnp:genre,res,res@size,res@duration,res@bitrate,res@resolution,res@protocolInfo,res@nrAudioChannels,res@sampleFrequency,upnp:albumArtURI,upnp:albumArtURI@dlna:profileID
StartingIndex: 0
RequestedCount: 16
8) Find other server that works in DeviceSpy
9) repeat steps 3 - 7 for the other server

Also could some of you PM me to join the betatesters group and give the 0.6 beta a go in case something changed, although I doubt it.

Re: LG 47LW6500

My Windows is not in English, is in Catalan.

I've tried to run this test, but I couldn't find the options :'(

That's what I got:
Image
I only can "Invoke Action" in the pink ones, and no one has those fields...

Re: LG 47LW6500

I'm having the same problem with a 47LW5600. any updates? the only thing displayed on the TV menu is the first enabled item in the presentation tab,

EDIT- my serviio machine is running Ubuntu 10.10, but that doesn't seem to be the issue according to this thread.

Re: LG 47LW6500

I have same problem with LG 32LW575S-ZC
Setting profile to "LG BD Player" doesn't work unfortunately.
I also see only "Audio" -> "Artists" empty folders.
Is there any workaround?

Re: LG 47LW6500

I don't have a clue about DLNA, but it looks like the LG isn't parsing the directory structure correctly. It only shows the first "category name" that isn't disabled in the presentation tab, it also shows sub directories if the "folders" section is set to display, but none of the other root directories like "last viewed." This is definitely just an LG issue because my XBMC client on Win7 can display and navigate all categories if enabled. A temporary work around is to disable all content before the category you want to view. for example, right now my "Audio" and "Image" groups are disabled so I can watch the video content from my TV since disabling those place "Video" as the first enabled category.

Re: LG 47LW6500

I think its a little bit more than that...

I say that because my LG TV works with other software programs like Nero Media Home.

Has there been any advances towards resolving this bug ?

Re: LG 47LW6500

you are already in the beta group, just go to the betatesting forum. This 'might' be fixed in beta 2 which should be out next week.

Re: LG 47LW6500

I also have run into the exact same problems described in this thread, with an empty Audio directory the only visible 'content' on the television. I have a new LG 55LW5600. Alternate DLNA servers seem to function correctly.

I'd be happy to take a stab at a beta version if it would be beneficial for testing.

Re: LG 47LW6500

I had a chance to load the latest beta yesterday and it seems like there is a difference indeed.

All the categories show up and files in my movie directory show and play :)

Haven't tried the other categories yet, will do so and report back.

Thanks !!

Re: LG 47LW6500

I have an LG 47LW5600 with the same issue. Just "Audio" shows up (and works flawlessly for flac and mp3) however no "Video" or "Photos". I requested Beta tester membership to try the latest Beta 2.

Re: LG 47LW6500

Success! The 6.0 Beta 2 allows all the photo and video content to show along with the audio.

As a side topic, I did have to modify the LG profile with (per topic thread 2344):
<Audio targetContainer="lpcm">
<Matches container="flac" />
<Matches container="ogg" />
</Audio>

To get the FLAC files to be supported. The ability to have this control over transcoding is a big plus. I can now ditch the Plex (unstable) and TVersity (didn't figure out transcoding to support FLAC for me on the LG TV) servers.

I didn't have to reboot, as an earlier poster mentioned, I just stopped and started the server in the services admin tool control panel in XP and restarted the console.

Thanks for Serviio!
