How to configure from a Mac to a LG 905 BluRay

I have a Mac which I have just downloaded Serviio to stream media to my LG 905 Bluray player. I don't know how to configure this to work. My BluRay doesn't see Serviio. If I try to put Serviio into my file sharing box on my Mac the LG sees a file called Serviio but tells me its empty.
I have loaded my movie file, Quicktime player, Music and a link to BBC iPlayer into the Serviio library but everything shows as an empty folder when I try to view it on the LG BluRay.
I'm really new to this so any help would be appreciated.

So you don't see Serviio or you do but it's folders are empty?

I have put the Serviio folder in my file sharing on my Mac.
When I try to look at the Serviio folder on the LG BluRay I see the folders in Serviio but they are all empty.

That's not how DLNA works. You have to run Serviio, add folders to it via the console ( http://www.serviio.org/index.php?option ... ticle&id=5 ) and then browse it on the TV as a media server. This is not folder sharing.

If I have Serviio running then surely I should be able to see it when I browse from my BluRay. If I don't select any items to share from my mac then the BluRay won't find any network computer.

Yes, you should see Serviio in the player's menu as an available DLNA server. If you dont't see it then look here: http://www.serviio.org/component/content/article/21#q1

Then you have to add content to the Serviio console on the Library tab. Add your shared folders there.

After that Serviio starts indexing the files and they should start appearing in the player's menu under Serviio.

Hello. I was wondering if this issue got resolved. I am having the same issue where I load folders containing media on the Serviio console on my mac. Then on teh HDTV I am trying to stream to, the Serviio icon comes up, and I can browse to folders, but they all appear empty...

Any advice greatly appreciated.

check the log if some files have been added.
