LG 42 LV5500 cannot connect to server

Hi
I have Serviio server installed on my PC (Win7 Ultimate x64) which is in one room and an LG 42LV5500 in another room connected to the same LAN (both static IPs, Wi-Fi G-54Mbps).
The PC is conected to main router Dlink DI-524 by a LAN cable, the TV is connected to Well WRC3500 router by a LAN cable and this second router (Well) is connected to the Dlink router in a bridge mode (so the TV basically communicates with PC through only 1 router). Port forwarding is set up correctly, I can see the TV from the PC and the TV can usually see the PC (server).
When I start Serviio console, it sometimes detects the TV as 1. Media Renderer with green dot on the left side and sets the profile to Generic DLNA profile
or 2. LG TV/player and sets the profile to LG TV/player, however in this case the dot is yellow.
In either one or other situation the TV: 1. can (sometimes, when it "sees" the server) connect to the server and browse folders, however the folder structure is not complete and I can't see any actual file in these folders. It seems that it only shows the folders you choose to display in categories menu in Serviio console.
or 2. (lately) TV can see the server but doesn't connect to it, here are the last lines from the DEBUG log:
  Code:

right now, Serviio can see the TV as LG TV/player with LG/TV player profile applied and with yellow dot.
If I try to use Nero MediaHome I can see the folders AND files correctly but even going to a subdirectory means waiting over 1 minute and when I finally get to a folder with a file, the TV fails to play the file (loses connection).
If I try to use Plex, the TV doesn't see the server. Never.
I have tried to use the config I've found on this forum for some other LG TV model, but it didn't help.

Please if You know how to fix this and get it working, I'd really appreciate it.
I'll provide any other necessary information when requested.

Thanks

P.S. I have a couple of network interfaces on my PC (VMware, VirtualBox, TeamViewer, LAN,...), so I've set the bound address to 192.168.0.101 (which is my PCs IP). Network Card is Realtek Gigabit Ethernet Adapter on-board.

Does the TV appear in Intel's DeviceSpy? If yes, post the DeviceDescription XML here.

I guess/hope this is Device Description XML.

Re: LG 42 LV5500 cannot connect to server

Change the detection section of the LG profile to this:

  Code:
<UPnPSearch>
  <FriendlyName>42LV5500.*</FriendlyName>
</UPnPSearch>
<HttpHeaders>
   <friendlyName.dlna.org>LG.*</friendlyName.dlna.org>
</HttpHeaders>

This is a hack that will only work for your TV model, I'll put the proper fix to 0.6.1. You should now only get MediaRenderer entry with green dot and the LG profile in the renderers list (remove everything and restart Serviio)

hi, it did that once, now I'm getting yellow LG TV/player with LG TV/player profile. However when I was able to connect to server (now the TV doesn't see the Serviio server, but it doesn't see the other one (Windows standard DLNA media sharing) server neither, so that's probably a bug in TV's firmware) and wanted to play, let's say a movie located on my PC's HDD in D:\MOVIE\UNSORTED\movie_name\movie.avi, when I went through the TV's interface from root to Video/Folders/MOVIE it said that the folder MOVIE is empty. I couldn't see any subfolders in there. Please do You know how to fix this?

edit: It seems that after a while the TV found the Serviio server again, there is green dot with Media Renderer and LG TV/player profile but the problem with missing folders persists.

Re: LG 42 LV5500 cannot connect to server

Just to revive this old thread, using 0.6.2 no issues with my LG 42 LV5500 all folders visible and external srt subtitles work fine with avi and mkv.

Yesterday it was detectd as LG TV and set it to lg profile but no subs and today it was detected as media renderer and set it to lg profile subs work. Let's see what happens tomorrow.

Return to LG
