hi,

I have a problem with the film metadata. I use nfo files to keep my library like i want. I don´t have any problem with title, genre, director, actor tags but i can´t see the film description on my Panasonic tv.

the nfo file has a XML estructure like this

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" standalone="yes" ?>
<movie>
<title>Alien -3</title>

<year>1992</year>

<plot>Here i write the sinopsin of the film</plot>

<runtime>115</runtime>

<genre>Miedo</genre>

</movie>

i think the <plot> tag is a wrong tag for this TV but i don´t know which it´s the correct one

can you help me?
thanks

As far as I am aware panasonic tv's don't request or display this information.
Check whether the information is being displayed correctly using MediaBrowser (if on a Pro or Evaluation licence).

I have a simular problem - metadata (nfo/xml) show posters (thumbnails) on viewing on PS3 or PC, but not on TV list. The posters displayed fine using PLEX. I don't know what triggers this data on DLNA. Any ideas?

Like DenyAll said, not every media player will show the metadata. My Panasonic ST30 Plasma shows the thumbnail image, but nothing else besides title and release date. My Sony N200 boxes don't show thumbnails, and Roku using Chaneru does. It's the player that determines what, if any, metadata can be viewed.

I also have Plex running on my server, and the same files show full metadata using the Plex app on the Roku, but of course this is coming from the Plex database, not Serviio. That's just the way Plex wrote their app. Plex can also stream via DLNA (the sme way Serviio does) and via that method I have the same limited metadata on the Panasonic and Sony players.
