hello
Dear Panasonic and Serviio users.
I have Serviio 1.4 installed on Ubuntu 12.04, i use it for music and movies.
As TV i have got Viera TX-P50v20e (2010) with sw. rev. 2518-10300.
It works ok with avi but i am not able to play .mkv or .mp4 movie files.
I try to play my gopro .mp4 files but it fails too.
Please let me know if any of You had and solved that issue?
Any suggestions?

thanx in advance Seba

Are you using the Panasonic 2010 profile? If so, make sure you have transcoding enabled - this should then play your MP4 and MKV files.

hello Guys
I don't belive that no one use serviio and Panasonic Viera 2010????

This is my profile:
<Profile id="viera2010" name="Panasonic Viera (2010)" extendsProfileId="viera2011a">
<!-- Panasonic Viera VT20, V20, G20, D25, D28 (2010) -->
<!-- detection removed as it was interfering with detection of the 2011/2012 Viera profiles
<Detection>
<HttpHeaders>
<User-Agent>.*Panasonic.*</User-Agent>
</HttpHeaders>
</Detection> -->
<Transcoding>
<!-- unsupported codecs will be transcoded into mpeg-ts, mpeg2 video and ac3 audio -->
<Video targetContainer="mpegts" targetVCodec="mpeg2video" targetACodec="ac3">
<Matches container="matroska" />
</Video>
<Audio targetContainer="mp3">
<Matches container="flac" />
<Matches container="ogg" />
<Matches container="asf" />
<Matches container="adts" />
</Audio>
</Transcoding>
</Profile>

and with that profile it doesn't play: *.mp4, *.rmvb files.

Any ideas?

I try to modify that profile and add next line:

<Video targetContainer="asf" targetVCodec="wmv2" targetACodec="wmav2" maxVBitrate="15360">
<Matches container="matroska" />
<Matches container="mpeg" />
<Matches container="mpegvideo" />
</Video>
<Video targetContainer="mpeg" targetVCodec="mpeg2video" targetACodec="ac3">
<Matches container="mpegts" aCodec="aac"/>
</Video>

but it was even worst....

thx. Seba

I do. I have a TX-P55V20A. The Panasonic 2010 profile works fine for me (I have made some mods to it, but the stock profile does the job).

MP4 files are already transcoded by this profile (the transcoding commands are in the "Panasonic Viera G/GT/DT/UT/VT (2011/2012)" profile, which the 2010 profile inherits). My MP4 files work fine. I don't have any .rmvb files, so haven't tested them (but they should be transcoded by the inherited 2011/12 profile.

Can you post MediaInfo details for those files that are not working.

I try to modify that profile and add next line:
Will never work. The Panasonic V20 cannot play asf files natively so you cannot transcode to that format. What is it that you are trying to do here...?

This should be transcoding?? Is it only this MP4 that doesn't transcode or is it all. You haven't actually stated what the problem is - does it not play at all, or plays erratically?

I wonder if the Panasonic is having a hard time with the bit rate of this file (16Mbps)?? Try adding this to your 2010 profile as a test (remember to restart your PC after changing profiles.xml):

  Code:
<Video targetContainer="mpegts" targetVCodec="mpeg2video" DAR="16:9"  maxVBitrate="10000" targetACodec="ac3" aBitrate="384">
   <Matches container="mp4" vCodec="h264" />
</Video>
