Panasonic G20 Series - audio transcoding

All,

Just downloaded this yesterday. Works a treat so far! However, I just encountered an issue with a mkv where no Audio OR Video was playing. I needed to change the 'Panasonic Viera' profile slightly to transcribe DTS to AC3 after which Audio / Video were restored and works a treat. Might be an idea to change this is the next rel, I suspect most panasonics will suffer from this.

(I have a Panasonic TX-P50G20B)

Changes I made are:

<Video targetContainer="mpegts" targetACodec="ac3">
<Matches container="avi" vCodec="h264" />
<Matches container="mp4" vCodec="h264" />
<Matches container="matroska" aCodec="dca" />
<Matches container="matroska" vCodec="h264" />
</Video>

Re: Panasonic G20 Series - audio transcoding

if you only want to trancdode dts audio, you should add that to the matcher elements, otherwise all h264 videos (no matter what audio) will be transcoded

Ah perfect, thanks. I found it eventually buried in a general panasonic thread!

I've change my panasonic pofile to:

<Video targetContainer="mpegts" targetACodec="ac3">
<Matches container="matroska" vCodec="h264" aCodec="dca" />
</Video>
<Video targetContainer="mpegts">
<Matches container="avi" vCodec="h264" />
<Matches container="mp4" vCodec="h264" />
<Matches container="matroska" vCodec="h264" />
</Video>

I take it the Panasonic TC-P50G20 works with Serviio...
Did you have to do anything special to make it work? I'm using Mac OS X Snow Leopard 10.6.7 able to connect using Wifi or Ethernet to my complex Network setup :|
For High Speed Internet, I've got AT&T U-Verse 18mb Download 1.5mb Upload, using the 2Wire router they supply with service, Model; 2WIRE 3800HG-B w/Wifi built in and 4 Ethernet ports.
My iMac connects to the 3800 with ethernet directly to router. I also have a 2nd wireless router attached to on of the 4 ports. This wifi router is, Apples Airport Extreme and is setup using 5GHz N only mode. Several feet away, is my 3rd Airport Extreme, it talks to the 2nd Airport through WIFI 5GHz N only.

I added a DELL PowerConnect switch to add more Ethernet ports to the 2WIRE 3800 .
Hooked to the Dell device,
Panasonic G20 TV,
DirecTV HR24-500,
HAVA network Streaming Player. ~which isn't on at the moment. Due to HAVA player only supports WINDOWS OS and I don't have Win OS.

I've had the Serviio Media Server working a few times and able to stream to my DirecTV HR24 but its sketchy at best... First day I downloaded and installed it, after a few short min. It was working great. Although no FF or RW using the directv remote or any other remote for that matter... But it Worked!
The next day, it didn't. Didn't change any settings it just wouldn't show up in the DTV Menu. After playing around with it for about 2 hours It started working again but this time, it only showed the movies and acted like it would play them but just went to a black screen and the play bar didn't start counting like it did the last time...
It hasn't worked since... Not sure what to do there...

So I wanted to try the Panasonic G20 TV. We just got the TC Board replaced today since it went out, and I'm just now getting ready to start messes with the Serviio media server to see if I can make it work...
But I don't konw for sure if it works or not so I'm here hoping someone will let me know for sure it does work.

Thanks

PS
Did I post this in the right area? So far my other post hasn't been answered... :?:

It works, make sure you select the Viera profile.

Is there a media server menu of some sort within the Panasonic TC-P50G20 menus? I'm able to see the TV in Serviio Console along with 3 other devices... Both DirecTV HR24.
If I tell serviio to use the TV IP as main device, I still can't seem to locate how to view anything using the server...
I thought it might be within the Veira Cast App area, no it's not. Not sure where or how to locate it...

Do I need to change or add anything within serviio .plist?
If so, what do I need to add?
I haven't changed anything outside of the Console area...

Also, Serviio doesn't seem to want to stream movies for me anymore on the DirecTV HR24 box... It see's the server and I can see all the movies with little Camer's next to each movie, but when I play one, it goes into black screen like its going to start playing it... but never plays anything, it acts like its on pause but It's not...

Anyone have a suggestion?

Is this the right Log?
If so I'll attach the whole log if so.

I doubt 10.0.1.2 is your IP address. Put your proper IP into the Bound IP address field. I think you installed Parallels or similar virtualizing software which might also block/ameng the way your network interfaces work.

My Applre Airport extreme Had a 10.0.1.2 address... Now it's in the 192.168.1.65+ area.
Hmm... That is odd you see 10.0.1.2 because I've had it set to 192.168.1.88 for the living rm. Directv HR24 for a couple weeks now, since i haven't been able to use it I haven't changed anything.
As of right now I have 3 devices showing up, One is the Panasonic Veira G20 TV and the 2 others are the DirecTV HR24's All items have a 192. IP next to them. In the binding IP area I've got it set to 192.168.1.88 which is living rm DTV.
Where do I change the 10.0.1.2 at?

Re: Panasonic G20 Series - audio transcoding

Sorry, you're right. The 10.x.x.x IP was from 10- days ago, the latest is this:

  Code:
[Device] Created UPnP Device with UUID: b64f1ffb-b421-3631-a8dd-ac424be3dbf7, bound address: 192.168.1.88

Serviio msends multicast on this I but no requests are coming back. That could be caused by:

- firewall blocking 8895
- Parallels blocking some of the ports or making the OS to use wrong network interfaces

I don't have Parallels software installed on this iMac... nor Windows on another partition.
I do have, a few iPhone App's that use VPN/VNC to remote access my mac from iPhone. I also have my Mac Screen sharing for my internal network turned on to access either iMac or Macbook Pro within the network.

I went in to my 2wire router and made sure port 8895 was open on my iMac.. it is.

So I got Serviio to work again... I deleted iSadora.app which was installed from the beginning... I deleted iSadora 2 days ago and restarted Serviio. It worked almost instantly. Watched Smallville last night through the DirecTV HR24 and all went well. (Still no FF or RW)
Today, tried to watch a movie, and it shows up and has all the movies within the folder with Cameras next to each one, but when I click play on any of them, it goes to the movie but just goes black screen... never starts playing.

Back to square one.... :cry:

Re: Panasonic G20 Series - audio transcoding

Since last night, Nothing has changed... It worked great, However I couldn't view anything on my sec. hr24 directv receiver. I could see all the content there but it wouldn't play either. The only thing that changed was the iMac went to sleep after no use like normal.
No other software like serviio is running or installed. The only thing installed that is a server would be Remote Tap iphone app for vnc, Splashtopremote for iphone, everyAir Server for iphone, PS3 Media Server... which has been installed from day 1. This is Sony's Server software,
And that it for server stuff...
I actually forgot about that one.

Any suggestions?
