BDT-110 and serviio

I have a Panasonic BDT-110 blueray player I have been trying to use with serviio.
I have some problems with getting the sound of the movies via the optical connection to my surround sound receiver.
I have tried both the generic and the panasonic viera profile for the connection with no luck.
Does any one have a suggestion for other things I could try?

The movies works fine on my ps3.

It sounds more like a problem with your blu-ray player's audio output settings than a serviio problem. Have you tried fiddling with the audio ouput options on your player?

I don't have this player to assist as a reference, but that's my 2c worth.

Does the sound work normally on this player, not using the optical connection?

How is your device connected to your TV? I know on my setup, I am connected from my Samsung BD-D5300 to my Sanyo TV via HDMI and then I use the TV's Audio out to my surround system and it works great.

From page 9 of the manual for your player also look at pages 30 and 32.

  Code:
When connecting a TV (pg 8) with HDMI AV OUT terminal,
set “HDMI Audio Output” to “Off” (pg 32).
≥ Set “Digital Audio Output” depending on the used terminal
and connected amplifier/receiver (pg 30).

I thought so too, but all the audio option is set as they should according to the manual. And of course the disc itself plays as it should.
I went trough all my movies last night and discovered that 2 of them actually worked. So it is properly something to do with the ripping.

And I have figured it out.
It looks like if you rip the dvd and it is not the original language you want to use, then the player can't find any sound and therefore no sound.

Solution: BDT-110 only supports one language via DNLA and that has to be placed where the original language is. When I do that during the ripping of the DVD everything works.

You are welcome.

I guess there is no way that serviio could cheat the DNLA-client and sort of rename the audio, so it would appear as the audio was the "first" audio-track?
I am asking because I have to re-rip my entire dvd-collection.

not Serviio, but maybe there is a tool for that. Google before you start ripping ;-)
