Panasonic DMP-BDT310

Hi

First off I just want to say that this is by far the best DLNA Media Server out there. I have a Samsung B650 LCD TV, PS3 & XBOX 360 and Serviio works flawlessly on them all.

Which brings me to the DMP-BDT310 which I have just recently purchased. Serviio picks up that its a blu-ray player under device name and automatically assigns the 'Panasonic Viera' profile for it but nothing will play. I can browse all my shared folders without a problem but playing any type of file just won't work. I tried changing the profile settings and the best two that seem to work are the 'DirectTV HD-DVR' and the 'Toshiba Regza' profiles. Playing DivX files seem to work fine but when playing HD .mov /.mkv files the aspect ratio stretches vertically to fit the screen and some files will play and it will show one particular area of the video really zoomed up.

Just wondering if anyone else has done any other tests with this player and if the next update will help with these issues.

Thanks.

Below is what the 110/210/310 supports (thanks dburckh). Note that it's different from the 85. Can someone make a profile from this?

Nope actualy that should that they both support exactly the same, so profile for the 85 would work fine with the models you stated

Re: Panasonic DMP-BDT310

Hi,

I have this type of BD player and have some issues with it.
First of all, I've seen in some other topic that for non-mkv files Windows Media Player performs pretty well. I tried it myself and it does work quite well, to be honest, much better than Serviio. Easy to set up and more importantly, you can pause the movie and resume it, which you can't with Serviio.

However, the problem is with mkv files which are not supported by WMP. That's where Serviio comes into play, not without issues though, which is why I'm here now.
mkv files can be played with the Panasonic Viera (2010) profile. Issues:
- none of the movies can be resumed after pausing (somewhat minor issue but it still would be nice if we could pause)
- MAJOR ISSUE: I don't really know if it's Serviio's fault since I had the same problem with one avi file when played through WMP.
I'm playing 720p movies on a HD Ready TV which should be okay, but some movies are zoomed in so we can only see a part of the picture. Some other movies are scaled perfectly. It seems to be related to aspect ratios, check examples.*
- can't change audio tracks: problem can be solved by extracting and merging the tracks of the mkv file but still...
- when trying to play some mkv files, the movie won't play and after about 15s or so (didn't measure) the BD player exits the movie by saying it can not connect.**
- subtitles won't play: for me, it's not an issue, but still it's an issue.

* let's see some examples:
The.Avengers.2012.720p.BluRay.DTS.x264.HuN-MWT - H264 MPEG-4 AVC - 1280x720 = plays fine
The.Expendables.2010.720p.RETAiL.BluRay.x264.HUN-AiR - H264 MPEG-4 AVC - 1280x532 = zooms in
The.Royal.Tenenbaums.2001.720p.BluRay.DD5.1.x264.HuN-Cafi - H264 MPEG-4 AVC - 1280x534 = zooms in
Warrior.2011.720p.BluRay.DTS.x264.HuN-MWT - H264 MPEG-4 AVC - 1280x534 = zooms in

**The.Killing.Fields.1984.720p.BluRay.x264.HUN-HDbox - H264 MPEG-4 AVC - 1280x692 = doesn't start

Could you post ffmpeg -i of a file that you can pause/resume with WMP and not with Serviio? They probably transcode it into a different format that the TV can resume.

Re: Panasonic DMP-BDT310

Hi,

I have a problem with connecting Panasonic DBT310 to Serviio. The server is recognized (I see it on the DLNA client's list) but when I try to connect to - message appears - "cannot connect to the server. Confirm net settings".

But the net/connection for sure is OK, i can play internet content.
