New profile needed for Panasonic Viera

I just got a Panasonic Viera (Model number TC-P46X3) that isn't functional with the default "Panasonic Viera" profile.
The supported video codecs for this tv that are listed in the manual are:
Video *MP4 (Video codec H.264 | Audio codec MP3/AC-3/LPCM)
*MKV (Video codec H.264 | Audio codec MP3/AC-3/LPCM)
*MPEG-2 PS and TS
It seems the default Panasonic Viera profile allows direct streaming of avi's with no transcoding, resulting in a "cannot read" error on the TV.
I've found a semi-solution http://forum.serviio.org/viewtopic.php?f=13&t=3152#p20484 <--there with a slight modification listed further down in the post but am still having "cannot read" errors with particular videos while using this profile.
Anyway, I didn't see the specs of this TV up here yet so figured the info would be useful to the developers.
Thanks for your work, this is a great program.

Can you supply the information on the supported formats of a device (see signature)?

Thanks for the quick reply. I made sure UPnP was enabled in my routers settings, then attempted to pull that information for you with DeviceSpy, but the device was not listed. I then searched the DLNA product database, but came up empty handed on an exact match. They have an X3L and an X3H listed, but not just an X3 and neither are listed as a 46 inch.

This is the minimal supported format, but we know that T30 series doesn't support avi/divx/wmv but E30 series does

Yes! This is my model panasonic. And I can confirm that avi/divx/xvid/wmv does not stream natively. Transcoding is necessary. And as I posted earlier, the Owner's manual lists the only supported video formats as:
*MP4 (Video codec H.264 | Audio codec MP3/AC-3/LPCM)
*MKV (Video codec H.264 | Audio codec MP3/AC-3/LPCM)
*MPEG-2 PS and TS

So a new Panasonic profile is needed for models that does not support avi in native format

Ok, I made sure UPnP was enabled on my router, then attempted to pull that information for you with DeviceSpy, but my tv was not listed. Of course I manually refreshed, turned the tv off and on a few times, and tried playing something from my computer. No go. Sorry man.

depends on your model if that profile is needed as some panasonics will play AVI files natively, so wont need them transcoded. Also Perl scripts are NOT a solution to a problem they are just used for TESTING and should not be used by basic users.

I have taken your profile made a couple of changes (AVI support and LPCM rather than MP3 for better quality) and put in a new thread for you so that the confusing bit is no longer present and we can get users feedback. ( viewtopic.php?f=13&t=5119 )
