Hello,

Newbie here. I am not having any luck getting any of the XviD files to transcode and play on the panny 55ST30. I am able to play MKV, MP4 successfully. Below is my profile, mediainfo and ffmpeg output. Any help would be appreciated.

You can try to trancode all AVIs then. Replace this

  Code:
 <Matches container="avi" vCodec="mjpeg" />
 <Matches container="avi" vCodec="dvvideo" />

with

  Code:
 <Matches container="avi"/>

This will make no difference whatsoever. FFmpeg doesn't care about extensions, it identifies files based on their content.

Finally got it working. I changed the profile to DirecTV HD-DVR and all files seem to work now. Thanks.

Hi Zip, I recently got an ST30 as well, 50".

First off, want to say that I've been looking through several DLNA servers and Serviio is by far the best so far!

Using the Panasonic Viera profile, AVI's do not play. I cycled through all the profiles and when using the "DirectTV HD-DVR", "MANTA WIFI Centre", and a few other profiles, AVI files would play, except they don't show up in the native widescreen format. Instead, all videos (AVI and non-AVI) display as a square, with black bars on either side.

Any thoughts on this or recommend any other profile I might be able to use? I'm willing to be a guinea pig! =)

According to the GetProtocolInfo result of Panasonic ST30 devices, avi is not supported. Two solutions:
- Modified/Add Panasonic according to the device model
- Either the user selects a profile that transcode AVI files (DirectTV)

I've created a profile for the ST30: viewtopic.php?f=7&t=5091

As for the aspect ratio, you simply have to press the "TV format" or "Aspect" button on your remote to go to "Aspect 2" to fill the screen. I don't know what the permanent solution for automatically getting the correct aspect ratio from Serviio's end/

huyz please dont spam your topic in multiple threads as i have stated before perkl scripts are not a solution and are just useful for tesdting and average/basic user should not attempt them.

I thought I was being helpful by answering an open question on threads that don't have a resolution. If I were running a forum, I would want all open questions to be answered even if the questions are duplicated. Certainly, that's how tickets/bug databases work. But if you think it's preferable that threads with open questions are left dangling even though there is answer somewhere else, and you think that this wouldn't be confusing to users who google for a solution, then I don't know what to tell you. What do you think I personally get out of what you call "spamming"? Money? Glory?

My thread does not only contain Perl script but a working profile. But I get the sense that this forum is somewhat hostile for some reason.
So you won't see me post again.

Cheers mate

nothing hostile about my response, it was a warning to other users trying to attempt your solution and getting into issues that we can not support.

I have taken your profile made a couple of changes (AVI support and LPCM rather than MP3 for better quality) and put in a new thread for you so that teh confusing bit is no longer present and we can get users feedback. ( viewtopic.php?f=13&t=5119 )
