P50VT20A - poor quality video and no subtitles

Hi all,
I am sorry if this argument has already been discussed in the forum but I can't find it anywhere.
My configuration is plasma P50VT20A, blu ray Sony BDV-E690, nas QNAP TS-559 Pro II, everything is connected wired to a modem/router Linksys.
I use to have PS3 Media Server on the Qnap for the srt support (my english is still to bad to watch movies without subtitles), then I found out that Serviio supports external srt subtitles on Panasonic Viera TVs so I installed it and I am trying to get it working.
When I watch a video using the blu ray media player the quality of the video is very clear, if I watch it using the TV media player the same video has a really poor quality, it seems a bit "out of focus", I tried to google it and check whether it's a problem with the settings but I have found only settings related t transcoding, nothing that has to do with video quality. It also doesn't show the subtitles, the srt and the avi files have the same name (ps3 media player shows them).
Does anyone have had a similar issue? Any suggestion on what I should look at?
Cheers,
Andrea
