Syno ds212j slow file transfer speed with serviio running

Hi

If I disable the Serviio 1.2.1-0018 service on my Synology ds212j nas I get transfer speeds of +/- 60mb per second. If I enable the serviio service, it's capped around +/- 20 mb per second.
It happens when I try to copy a big (4gb) file from my windows 8 computer to the synology or the other way around with serviio running. It's always around 20 mb per second. I'm using a gigabit switch between these devices.

I'm also using the JAVA SE for Embedded 7 package 1.7.0_21-0015.

I don't see abnormal CPU or RAM usage with the serviio service running.

Anybody else experiencing this problem?

krikke

[EDIT: title & java version]

Eventually I disabled Serviio (and the Java package) and used the Synology mediaserver package instead.

The Synology mediaserver package had some issues with file MIME types at first (in combination with my Sony bdp-s790 blu-ray player), but then I discovered you can manually set the device type in the Synology mediaserver package. (Mediaserver > DMA compatibility tab > Device list > click and change the profile next to your device). So I didn't need Serviio anymore. Hope this might help you.

Well it sounds like a workaroun, i will test it but i realy liked some of the features of serviio, and i have already paid the full version of it so it would be a shame not to use it.
but thanks for the tip.
I think if i reverted to an older version which seemed to work fine it would solve the issue, but i dont know how to install a previous version of serviio unfortunately.

i hope somebody from the developers will be able to offer a solution.
