Hi Everyone,
I have installed 1.6.1 pro version on my NAS QNAP TS-112P, but mediabrowser doesn't stream videos, I can see the library only, the player starts buffering but nothing happens. I have a W10 with chrome browser and NAS in the same subnet. It works with Serviio 1.6.1 pro installed on W10.
I have checked bandwith on PC and NAS but no traffic appear, NAS CPU stay around 14%.
Do you have any idea about this problem?
Thank you!
Riccardo

HI,
can you send the output of ffmpeg -i for the file you're trying to play?

Hi! This is the output for the same video. Could be some codec is missing?

Ok, I will retest and if it's a bug fix for 1.7. In the meantime you could try to edit file
- Code:
/share/MD0_DATA/.qpkg/Serviio/serviio.sh
and change
- Code:
ARCH_JAVA_OPTS="-Dserviio.fixedPointEncoders"
to
Then restart Serviio / NAS.

Hi Petr, I have changed what you suggest me, but seems still not working. Rebooted Serviio server and NAS.

It doesn't look like the change has been accepted, are you sure you saved the changes? It uses libmp3shine to encode mp3 instead of the non-fixed point library it should use after the change.

Also, can ypu post the log again, but with
detailed log enabled? You will have to change the xml log4j config file and restart the service / NAS. Then play the file again.

Thanks for your answer.
I have changed ARCH_JAVA_OPTS value then restarted Serviio and NAS.
- Code:
[/share/HDA_DATA/.qpkg/Serviio] # ls
LICENCE.txt config/ legal/ plugins/
NOTICE.txt dcraw* lib/ serviio.pid
README.txt ffmpeg* library/ serviio.sh*
RELEASE_NOTES.txt fonts/ log/ tmp/
[/share/HDA_DATA/.qpkg/Serviio] # cat serviio.sh | grep ARCH_JAVA_OPTS
ARCH_JAVA_OPTS=""
ARCH_JAVA_OPTS=
${JAVA_BIN} ${JAVA_OPTS} ${JAVA_SERVIIO_OPTIONS} ${ARCH_JAVA_OPTS} -classpath "$SERVIIO_CLASSPATH" org.serviio.MediaServer > "${QPKG_DIR}/log/engine_output.log" 2>"${QPKG_DIR}/log/engine_error.log" &

Debug mode in enabled
This is the log4j.xml file for org.serviio category
- Code:
<category name="org.serviio">
<priority value="DEBUG"/>
</category>
I made all changes with VI editor

The log you posted (the second time) was still not EBUG log (there are no DEBUG entries, only INFO) - I'm especially interested to see the ffmpeg command used for the transcoding job.

You can see my log4j.xml on my last post. The Debug mode seems to be enabled. Is this "/share/HDA_DATA/.qpkg/Serviio/log" the corrrect path? I have 1 Bay NAS ARM CPU (X19 ???)
The ffmpeg command used should be in this log file?

I have removed serviio.log, the new log file now seems to have DEBUG details
This is what i can see for ffmpeg. Let me know if you need all text from log file in DEBUG mode, i don't attach it here because it's very large.

Ok, think I found it. Are you using Low quality for the MediaBrowser playback? If yes, try medium / original and confirm it works.
First make sure to revert all changes you made so far.
Alternatively, you can update the profile for flv_player (in application-profiles.xml) and change all cases of
- Code:
aSamplerate="22050"
to
- Code:
aSamplerate="44100"

I made the changes replacing all 22050 with 44100 cases, changed playback quality too; then restarted Servioo service. This is the output og ffmpeg commad:

Is this the correct way to test it. Let me know.

Thanks,
can you change them from 44100 to 48000 and try again?
BTW, in any case, your NAS might be too slow to support transcoding in real-time anyway ;-/ Let's see with the lowest quality
