Synology 100% cpu due to "scan" on changes

I noticed my Synology was running for almost 100% for a couple of days now. If i look at the log it started with the DSM 6.2.3 update.
It is Serviio who is detecting “changes” in the movies folders. in the serviio.log it shows:

  Code:

so every 5-10 sec it detects a change in the new downloaded files. if i reboot Serviio it stops. But then with the new file downloaded/found it starts again.

also when i disable the option "Keep library automatically updated" it stops. When enabled it is quiet until a new file is placed in a folder.

Anyone else seeing this?

Yeah i have seen something similar.

I removed Serviio and uninstalled FFMPEG as well.

I also Disabled a File Services setting in Advanced called SSDP (WIndows Network Discovery) it share the same port as DLNA (1900 UDP) and I suspect the two were messing each other around.

Then i reinstalled Serviio only and all is OK.

Good luck.

Actually... it happened again... not doing massive cycles but it's definitely just one folder particularly its doing it too.

Im gonna keep on investigating

Ok so this was happening again after the above so i swtiched off some settings in Serviio... First was Generate thumbnails for local Videos and also Look for a local DVD Cover image or poster. Its calmed down.

Enable the Debug logs and see what its doing... i was supprised at how active it was in doing indexing... it would be nice is the MetaData Controls were a bit more granular about what you wanted it to capture and process... I have no interest in knowing directors and actors associated with my movies.
