Hi
Sorry for my English

I've done all the instructions of the orginal README file. (and copy the file fun_plug in the file of the zip fun_plug.debian)
When I reboot my DNS320L, I've got a problem when I want to connect whith the SSH. I've got this message : "Network Error : Connection refused".

Thanks

Re: HOWTO: Serviio on DNS-320 & DNS-325

Hi!
I just installed serviio 0.6.1 (from the first post) on my DNS-325. The problem that I have is that some time to time the TV (Samsung D6500) stop seeing the server. Sometimes I start the movie, try to play another one and the TV says "connection to the server lost" or similar. Ant I have to restart the TV (sometimes helps, sometimes not) to see again the server. They are both in the same network (192.168.0.101 and 192.168.0.111)

And can I upgrade to 1.0.1? And yes, I'm a total noob in Linux :(

Am I missing something obvious? Where do you get the Package from? all links in the top post doesn't work.

The [free] link still works but it's painfully slow. Just click on the link and then click on the box with the red border (Valider et telecharger...) and you file will appear.

http://dl.free.fr/getfile.pl?file=/wMve4L6n

On that regards, would it be possible for someone much smarter than me to update the first post with an upgraded package (1.2?).

I would love to install this on my 325 so that I don't have the PC running, but honestly, it just seems to be a bit confusing to me as I have never dabbled in Linux at all. I have tried 3 times now and have failed each time. So frustrated. (i can't even get 061 installed)

All the other NAS seem to get updated by people here but this one seems to be the red-headed step child.

Please help?

I'm running 1.4 on my DNS320. I loaded the old Serviio_061 squeeze package on it but to a folder named Serviio_14 and then updated to serviio 1.4 by unzipping it to the proper folder: Serviio_14/opt/serviio/

I had to use Serviidroid to configure the install though... I played around trying to get the webui to work but there might be an issue due to renaming of the install folder?? Don't know for sure. There's no "browse" for share folders in serviidroid that I know of, so I wasn't sure where I needed to place the share folder, as I'd forgotten  . It works fine if you place your 'shared content folder' under the squeeze install folder, which in my case was 'Serviio_14'. Then I just added the folder in Serviidroid as /shared_folder_name_here.

BTW... No online content works but it's my understanding this is a known issue on NAS????

Hope this helps.

Re: HOWTO: Serviio on DNS-320 & DNS-325

There are Serviio packages for DNS-325, DNS-327L and DNS-345. Since it's based on java it is necessary install java7 package too. These packages are available on page below: http://dlink.vtverdohleb.org.ua/Add-On/

i am really new to all this NAS stuff. I have successfully installed Serviio to my DNS-320 via your package. I can see in servio.log that Serviio server is running, i can see him in my TV too. But how i can control the server? I mean adding stuff to library and etc. I suppose that i can use WebUI for it, but i dont know how to do it.

Can you please help me?

Hi,
I will made a complete "how to" this week for explain all...

For Configure Serviio, you must use the web UI!
To activate the webUI :
->Connect in ssh to your NAS :
ssh root@IpOfYourNas
password : serviio

->Launch Apache's service :
/etc/init.d/apache2 start

->Verify if the apache is running :
top
(You must have 4 line with apache2)

->With your web broswer connect to the webUI
http://IPNAS:8080/serviio

Don't forget the :8080

->Configure the webUI

When you have finish you can stop apache2 to preserve cpu with :
/etc/init.d/apache2 stop

For your information Serviio's folder is in /opt/serviio
You will find the log and the configure.xml files

Be conscient that's keep take a long time before your library is read by serviio.
Use the command top to see if serviio works... You will see a java process who uses 99% of cpu!

Test with this information, i hope that's will works!

Sorry for my poor english, if you see intolerable fault please correct me :?

sorry, but I followed ALL instructions step-by-step but when I am trying to start apache2... it is not working...! I went into the /etc/init.d/ folder and there is no Apache2 installation :( Please HELP !!
