Making progress, but nothing new to report. Having to do lots of other background changes to support it.
spudy12 wrote:Hi will. Can't remember if I imagined it or not but I thought I saw somewhere you had a version that you could side load on to a kindle? Did I imagine that or is there one that doesn't require google play.
Cheers

You don't need a rooted device, either use adb to pull the apk from your phone, or download one of my many apps that will do it for you from Google Play, e.g. 'Apk Share & Backup'.

Any major hurdles stopping it?
EDIT: I'm also having real trouble with the music player running inside bluestacks. Everytime I select a song it crashes. Video is working okay using the internal player for medium and low qualities but not for original. (Think thats a bit rate issue)
This is all I can see in log files?

I've got a prototype working. The main hurdle is time, which I have very little of at the moment.

The release builds on Google Play contain very little logging, so I'm not surprised its blank.
I'll have to install it to work out what is wrong, the crash report doesn't really make sense, but then they have messed with parts of the platform.

Good to know that it's on it's way though. Will it just download the original file, or will it download it at the quality for that device / chosen?
Just thought with offline downloading it could be an iplayer offline watch style setup whilst travelling.
Yes they have messed around with it a lot so I'm surprised any of it worked.
I have eventually found a way to remove all their crap, root it and make it run like a standard android tablet. (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthr ... 44&page=24) -- use version 0.8.11 of the offline installer
Can you think of any reason why original quality playback would not work on either Internal / External player or standard and enhanced profiles?
VLC has the best luck out of the lot - plays a few frames then video freezes.
