I have created a chrome extension
Good stuff.
I suggest you also post this as its own thread under 3rdPartyTools. That will make it easy to find.

I see a lot of people struggling to link youtube videos to their serviio. I have created a chrome extension that should make the task trivial.

Requirements

Simple how to:

Open the extension options and add your serviio host name and port number.

For videos just click on the add to play list button. If you don't have one already create a play list and add the video to the playlist. Then go to your manage playlist page and there should be an option to add the playlist to serviio. (remember to click refresh if you have made changes to the list)

You can also add playlists, search results and user feeds. Check out http://code.google.com/p/serviiotube/ for more info and some screen shots.

Excellent works great, thanks.

Re: YouTube

Hi

I have followed the instructions, and when i look at the online sources my you tube feed is listed in there, but when i try to play them back on my ps3 it says no items in folder. I am really new to this so know its my fault. Any ideas?

Thanks all

Re: YouTube

Same problem here. I fixed it changing the file Youtube.groovy at line 44

from:
def videoInfoUrl = "http://www.youtube.com/get_video_info?&video_id=$videoId$elType&ps=default&eurl=&gl=US&hl=en"

to:
def videoInfoUrl = "http://www.youtube.com/get_video_info?&video_id=$videoId$$elType$&ps=default&eurl=&gl=US&hl=en"

It is working now, but the selected resolution is always the smallest, no matter what resolution is selected on serviio console.

Cheers,

Youtube Live events don't seem to work. e.g.

The playlist shows no videos. In the log I see:

Re: YouTube

I don't think live streams ever worked. There is a url is on the page in a different place than normal yt vids. Note resolution is only 128x72. There are no high quality links.

Re: YouTube

Hi everybody,

As far as i understand the Groovy plugin should be able to work in a QNAP NAS as well but i cannot find out how to actually copy the Groovy plugin to the correct folder on the NAS. To me it does not seem to be that easy compared to windows. Any kind of help would be much appreciated!

I have a QNAP NAS, to copy the groovy file you need to use a program called WinSCP
And copy all your groovy file to this location /share/MD0_DATA/.qpkg/Serviio/plugins/
Sony Bravia 2010 52NX803 - Sony PS3 - Xbox 360
Serviio running on QNAP NAS 639 Pro - 1.6 Intel Dual Core - 2GB RAM and QNAP NAS 121 - 2Ghz ARM Marvell - 1GB RAM
Console using ServiiDroid for Android, ServiiMetro and ServiiWP for Windows Phone and WebUI for iOS
