[SOLVED] Toshiba 32SL733 too old for Serviio?

Hi,

I have an old Toshiba 32SL733 and the current Serviio Version 2.0 running on Windows 10.
The TV basically supports DLNA. But its quite old.
The newest Firmware is from March 2011. (I upgraded it to this version).

I just wanted to ask wheater this TV is too old for Serviio, generally.
Because it finds all my movies, but like 99% of them show up as "00:00" total time duration, and cannot play them at all. - "media playback error"
Only a tiny part of my files, like maybe 1 out of 30 files show the correct length and is playing fine.
And my media is really nothing fancy. There are plenty of older, small files. There are no 4k files or anything.

I attached the debug log.

Thx in advance,
NDev.

Your log doesn't contain any attempt of playing anything on your TV that I could find. What profile was assigned to your TV? You can see this in the Serviio console on the Status tab. My guess is it's either assigning the wrong profile, there is no good profile for your TV, or it's using the Generic profile which does no transcoding.

You obviously have media that your TV doesn't support. There's no reason a working profile cannot be used, either an existing profile for another device or creating a custom profile specific to your TV.

So, while I investigate what media your TV might support, check on what profile is assigned and we'll go from there.

EDIT: here's what the specs for you TV show as supported media:

VIDEO: MPEG2(PS) PAL, MPEG2(PS) NTSC, MPEG2(PS)
Audio: LPCM, MPEG1 Layer 1 and 2, MPEG2 Layer 2, Dolby Digital (AC-3).

Also supports MP3 audio.

My guess is there are many existing profiles that will work with this TV. You might try some of the Sony TV profiles for a start.

Hello atc98092 !

Yes, you were right!
I changed the profile to "Toshiba Regza" and now its working fine!

Sorry for the stupid noob question. I should have read some other posts before asking.
I can see now setting the profile has been discussed plenty of times here.

I had a couple of Serviio setups before with totally modern Samsung SmartTVs. I didn't have to change any profile stuff for them, coz it was working out of the box there.
Thats why i was not aware of profile settings.

Anyway thanks!!
