wow Im going crazy with my other TV (Toshiba 55WX800U)
I hit folers and lists all files and times. When I click on it it work with major choppy effect (sound/video) or it displays "media error playback"

I can find a patter to it - why does it play sometimes and some other times it doesnt

also mkv and mp4 files are no go.

it has to be something with dns-325 version 5 of serviio since I know on my htpc i had v6 and played normally

Dude Im lost

I have no idea how to do that. I read you wiki link and downloaded that soft but dont know anything else. Can you point me into right direction please.

One way is to send me the Sink protocol information of your device.

Install Intel UPnP tools <------------ did that
run Device Spy <------------where/what is that ?
It should list all your UPnP device and among them yout device (eg TV, console, etc)
Expand the device's tree and find service: urn:upnp-org:serviceId:ConnectionManager:1
Expand that and double click on GetProtocolInfo(…).
Click on Invoke and send me (or attach a file) the result in field Sink. If you feel like it you can as well add it to our database.
Alternatively, if your device doesn't appear in DeviceSpy, search for it's supported features via DLNA Product Search.

try changing the toshiba profile to this

  Code:
   <Profile id="13" name="Toshiba REGZA" extendsProfileId="1">
      <Transcoding>
         <Video targetContainer="mpeg" targetACodec="ac3" targetVCodec="mpeg2video">
            <Matches container="mp4" />
            <Matches container="avi" />
            <Matches container="mpegts" />
            <Matches container="mpegvideo" />
            <Matches container="asf" />
            <Matches container="ogg" />
            <Matches container="flv" />
            <Matches container="3gp" />
            <Matches container="matroska" />
            <!-- if audio different to ac3, must be transcoded -->
            <Matches container="mpeg" aCodec="aac" />
            <Matches container="mpeg" aCodec="mp3" />
            <Matches container="mpeg" aCodec="dca" />
         <Audio targetContainer="mp3">
                     <Matches container="mp4" />
                     <Matches container="flac" />
                     <Matches container="ogg" />
                     <Matches container="asf" />
               </Audio>
      </Transcoding>
      <OnlineTranscoding>
         <Video targetContainer="mpeg" targetVCodec="mpeg2video" targetACodec="ac3">
            <Matches container="mp4" />
            <Matches container="flv" />
         </Video>
      </OnlineTranscoding>
   </Profile>

in profiles.xml file and then restart serviio pc and try your MKV files again. make sure u have selected this profile for your device as unlike Samsung its not auto assigned for you.

Cerberus

I tried to modify/edt that with xml copy editor, notepad, wordpad and none of them work.
Now my profile.xml is broken.

Can you please edit that on your end and post the whole profiles.xml file ?

my serviio is not even working now prolly because I damaged that file trying to edit it.

Thank You for all you help and time

UPDATE

I have tried few other ways to update that profile.

1.) stop serviio in webUI - didnt allowed me to save proflies.xml (it says that other app is using it)

2.) rename files and accessed telnet then manually replace file with the one that i have edited in notepad++ ( I did copy, past Toshiba profile) . I did replace the file but serviio didnt recognized that profile. then I replaced that with backup proflies.xml and started to work again.

I tired to edit this file with notepad, notepad++, xml notepad and xml copy editor. They all replaced existing profile for toshiba but at the end didnt work in serviio.

At this point Im stuck - I tried all options I could come out with and searched for all possible ones.

Please help ?

Great thanks

What would be the best way to replace that file ? Or do I have to disable ssh and use telnet to overwrite file in that folder ?

Sorry for so many noob questions but I'm new to nas and Linux

to allow access you have to stop serviio service on the nas, then FTP to the nas and copy the file over and over right the existing file.

Sorry but can u tell me what would be that command in ssh to stop it and start it after I'm done ?
Thank you

UPDATE 2

I tried to find it myself so II did fallowing

to shut down serviio

/opt/serviio/serviio-0.5.2/bin/serviio.sh stop

then I logged into dlink sharecenter and used ther web file service to accesses all files - went to folder /opt/serviio/serviio-0.5.2/config/ and deleted profiles.xml
next step I did was to upload new profiles.xml into that folder using the same build in app from sharecenter.
-then I did /opt/serviio/serviio-0.5.2/bin/serviio.sh start
-all looked fine - time stamp on file i replaced changed
- restarted box
-now serviio is not detected by TVs. And when I tried to log into webUI I see red circle with X in it.
Required Serviio 0.5.2, but found ''
Cannot connect to Serviio server, it does not seem to be running. Exiting..

I just replaced it with backup file I had and now it works ?? (old file)

Do you think there is something wrong with that file you gave me ?
I use the same steps to replace it with backup profiles.xml i had and went back to original
that file you uploaded for some reason doesnt want to work with my serviio - unless im missing something on how it has to be replaced/activated ?

can you please look into that
Thank you

use a proper ftp program (filezilla) as clearly the built in one is corrupting the profile.xml file. I have also reuploaded the profiles.xml file above just in case my work network corrupted it when I originaly did it.
