Streaming to Toshiba 40RV753B

Has anyone had any luck with streaming video to a Toshiba 40RV753B. Looking at the Toshiba website it appears MPEG2 is the native supported file format, but want to stream .mts AVCHD files from a camcorder. Presumably these files will have to be transcoded??
My own Sony Bravia supports this natively but the Tosh is my daughters TV and I dont want to spend a lot of time if Serviio cannot transcode. If she had Windows 7 on her PC it should work with WMP 12 but she has XP with WMP11.
Would appreciate any views advice.

Thanks zip. I will certainly do that if I have trouble. I havent even set up streaming or installed Serviio on her pc or even networked the PC yet. I was really after experiences of other Toshiba users to see if they have had any sucess before I even set up streaming or going to the expense of buying homeplugs to network the pc.

Its not easy to set up and test as she lives a long way away.
