Linux Serviio to 40RV753B problems

* pausing then resuming several seconds before or after it was paused
* black screen with sound on 1080p files (i think they are mp4) will check later
* letterboxing, i am struggling to get some videos full screen. some are and its great, some (after fiddling on the tv) i can get to 85-90% full screen
* random error message then playback stops
* windows media player cant see files shared over the network. this isnt major as it works fine on iphone/ipad and i will be screaming at ubuntu later to get folder shares working properly
if anyone has any ideas that would be great!
serviio is installed on HP N36L running ubuntu 11.10
edit: it is setup with the correct tosh profile
Edit: issues pausing then resuming some mkv files (press play timer carrys on, no sound, no video, no error)
Please I really don't want to go back to windows
