With "Generic profile" selected in serviio console, need users to verify this information.

Hi,

What is it exactly that you need verified?

Currently I am running 0.6.1 with 47pfl9706. Serviio does not recognise the specific philips profile, but i can stream my mp3s without problems. Haven`t come round to streaming video though.

With Serviio 0.6.1 version Philips profile (id=20):
- AVI are delivered in native format with mime-type="video/avi"
- All other video media files are transcoded to MPEG Program Stream with MPEG2 Video and AC3 audio.

Serviio does not recognise the specific philips profile

?
On serviio console, could you delete all device, save and restart serviio service, then refresh the device list.

Haven`t come round to streaming video though.

Don' understand!
Do you try select the proper Philips profile on serviio console?

What is it exactly that you need verified?

To customize profile for philips devices:
- First use Generic Profile then list all format that were supported in native.
- Second provide information about a file not supported then we will modify the profile in the first post.

Hi there,

I guess that we are missing eachothers point. With:
Haven`t come round to streaming video though.

I meant that I am not very busy with streaming video at the moment. I am currently only using the MP3 streaming of Serviio and still need to figure out the video thing. But given my lack of time at the moment, it is not my highest priority to spend much time on it.

What I meant is that Serviio does not automatically recognise the device as a Philips device from the HTTP header that the television sends to Serviio (or maybe that is just standard practice?). It is recognised as a device with name NMR and a Generic Profile. See debug log below:

I already checked and updated my Sink info into the serviio Wiki. Also added references to the Philips support forum. There they have an XLS file with an overview of all supported formats for televisions (PFL), home cinema sets (HTS) and Blu-ray players (BDP). Isn't it easier to take that as a starting point and change from there on?

Anyway, when I start using the Video stream functionality and encounter any file that cannot be played I will post it here.

Did a quick try of streaming tonight. MKV container with H.264 compression works perfectly on my Philips TV, although I cannot see the embedded subtitles. Don't know if that is a TV or Serviio issue. Please find attached the Mediainfo file, if you are interested.

Having the same problem with Philips 55pfl7606k, cannot get subs to work at all over DLNA.
Any suggestions?

Enable burned-in subs in the console.

Done that,
Still cannot see subtitles on the TV.
What profile should I use?
Tried the Philips 2010 one.
