Presentation Order - Vote if you can!

Hi zip, since theres a whole new console design in for 1.4, please can you consider changing the Presentation order for the important folders towards the top.
Just like the "Metro" concept, what the most important to you appears first
Or even user could change by having simple up/down or dragging.

I understand that some devices like Xbox show these folder alphabetically but most of relevant devices i use appear how Serviio wants them.
Currently im always editing the contentDirectoryDef.xml found in serviio.jar\org\serviio\upnp\service\contentdirectory\definition\contentDirectoryDef.xml to make it the best accessible folders using Serviio when i do a fresh install.

My best view:
Video
- Folders <-Most used folder
- Online <-Online sources is so much popular now, and some days most used than my local media
- Last Viewed <-Quick easy access
- Last Added
- Movies <-Most used Movies organised folder
- Series <-Most used TV organised folder
- Titles
- Genres
- Actors
- Directors <-Some of these folders i hide as Movies and TV is very organised but dont mind it visible since its at the bottom
- Producers
- Release Years
- Playlists

The Audio and Image category i also prefer "Folders" to be at the top followed by "Online", the less important folders can appear at the bottom.

Serviio users, which do you prefer?

The new console will not make it to 1.4, I'm afraid, the new MediaBrowser is taking longer than expected (but it'll rock ;-) )

What I'm thinking more is whether the new console should still be a desktop app, or build a HTML5 console instead. Should be easier for the NAS users, probably easier to develop too.

I just realised now after getting BitBucket notifications :(
But looking forward to the new MediaBrowser.

I see you point about a HTML5 console, the current PHP web UI is very fragmented with different web devs putting in ideas and then leaving for other devs
I see Patters doesnt pack the Web UI for Synology users. Ive started packaging for QNAP users with the latest Web UI in PHP to makes things easier for Qnappers.
Ive seen some JavaFX apps and looks really good, maybe a desktop system tray "Serviio Monitor" for quick access to Web Console

Any thoughts on my Presentation order change?
Love to hear other Serviio users what their preferred Presentation order is.

Sad to hear new mediabrowser won't be in 1.4 but I'm sure it'll be worth the wait! ;)

I have to agree and think the html5 console is probably a better option, easier cross platform support then and will benefit people running on NAS / headlesses boxes

I think zip meant the new console wont make it but the MediaBrowser will

Ah I see, I took it as the media browser is taking longer than planned so the console redesign can't be finished either.
Might be wrong, and if I am, all the better!

EDIT: Just thought, isn't someone else working on the new MB?

I'm working on the new MB myself, learning some JavaScript frameworks has been fun, but takes ages to make is scale properly with responsive design.

1.4 is all about the new MB, so it'll be defo in.

ServiiGo works amazing well, everyone i know loves it!
Love or hate Apple, iPads are very popular. Would be very nice to see a fluid interface for my daughters iPad.

@zip - is there ways of having "Presentation Profiles"

I like my full list of folders on my Sony Bravia TV but on the Xbox 360 it's not because the presentation are shown alphabetically, my priority folders like "Series" at the bottom.

Would be cool to have separate presentation views for different devices.

I think that would make the setup super bloated.

I would love a way to re-order the folders, even under one profile and I'd be happy. As is it now, if I want to change the order, I have to remove them all, and add them back in in the order I want them. Tedious when just having up/down buttons could solve that.
