Does DLNA limit what categories should be displayed??

I would really have liked to have:

Album
Composer
Soloist
Orchestra

The first two are really needed...

I listen mostly to classical and Jazz, and the current way seems best suited to light listening to easily forgotten music...

You might be able to customize the categories by editing the metadata in the audio files. The following information comes from http://www.serviio.org/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=12

  Code:
Swisscenter
Serviio supports importing XML files generated by Swisscenter media center. Using this extractor will enable you to completely manage your media library metadata via Swisscenter.

XBMC
Serviio supports importing .nfo XML files generated by XBMC. Using this extractor will enable you to completely manage your media library metadata via XBMC.

I think this is about metadata in a database of xml-files, and one would have to generate those.

I was wondering if the metadata embedded inside flac files could be used directly to generate categories for audio files.

I have not tried this, but the way this reads is that XBMC will generate the information.

So... you'll have to run xbmc... and I won't, because I can't.

Or swisscenter, and thet's just the same, no can do, so no will do.

ok, Zip might have more ideas on other ways of getting it to work the way you want it to.
