Dlna transcoding proxy

If serviio could also act as a dlna client it could be used as a dlna proxy that could transcode the media. That ay a dlna client could play any media on any dlna server even if the format isn't natively supported. This probably sounds like an odd request so here's a bit of background.

In addition to a PC running serviio for all my divx, mp3s, etc my human PVR box also has a dnla server, I'd like to be able to watch stuff I've recorded on the PVR on a TV in another room. The snag is although the TV has a DLNA client it can't cope with the format outputted server on the PVR. Of course I could route a cable directly between the 2 rooms but thats not easy, but I've already got both devices on my network...

I'm guessing a transcoding proxy could also be useful in loads of other situations.

Thanks

Tom
