Hi there,

first of all, Serviio is really the best DLNA tool availably. Thanks for the great work!!

This morning we were watching with our little son a sequel of his favorite show "Pumuckl". Starting the sequal, I always have to click and scroll a lot in order to get to the right folder containing the files of "Pumuckl". Having a lot of usefull categories right on the starting screen, I thought it would be great to have another category here, called "Favorites" where I can put folders of my favorite shows which contain multiple files/sequels (of course they don't have to contain multiple files, even so this might be a feature worth thinking of. In this case the category should be named something like "favorite sequels"). Having this, you would have to add favorite folders manually within Serviios program interface of course.

Therefore another option would be to have a new category named "last used folders" like "last seen movies" which we already have (not sure about the exact name of this category in english). This would offer also a quick access to folders without the need to configure anything manually. Having this automatism, it would be a great extra feature to decide within Serviio console that only folders should auomatically be added, of they contain "X or mor files". This would make this feature I would say "pefect" :mrgreen:

It would be great to have this functionality available in any future versions

ZIp has already said he wont be adding user customisable folders to serviio. BUT you can do this yourself by creating a FOLDER on your hdd called favorites and just puting your favorite things in there and sharing that folder seperately to your other shared folders... then by going to the folder catagory and selecting favorites you get same affect as what you are asking

sounds like a good work around, even so it would still be a WORK AROUND

Having my second option "Last seen folders", would offer the needed functionality and no user customization is required at all.

I will use the work around for now and hope for the future

Another thing you might want to look at is making custom tvshow.nfo files. this will allow his shows to show up under the series heading under what ever name you want it to.

Code:: Serviio supports importing .nfo XML files generated by XBMC. Using this extractor will enable you to completely manage your media library metadata via XBMC.

Me and another user are trying to get it to group his movies together under series for movies that go together.

Hi moltra,

very interesting post! That's indeed a very nice option to have certain movies grouped together! I will look into this and play around with it.

Even so, regarding my suggestion it would be the easiest to have an automatic folder called "Last seen folders" or "Last used folders". Of course that's just a minor issue, but for me (and maybe for others) it would improve Serviio even more

Under video there is a "last Viewed" folder

Yep, "last viewed" (files), but what I suggested was "last viewed (or used) folders". The reason is, as described above, that when you have a show with multiple sequels you always have to make your way through all folders again to watch the next sequel. Having an option like "last viewed folders" it would be easy to reach such folders.
