Newest files meta folder and or date based meta tree.

When moving files in the media folds or maybe filling in older episodes the last added folder fills up with those moves.

I would like a Newest folder that is instead based on the file date stamp, that way new files would actually stay at the top of this list.

Even better would be a time stamp based meta tree of year\month\date as some other DLNA server have, this is great for seeing what was added a few days ago without looking all over the place.

I agree, this would be very helpful in my household.

I was thinking along similar lines. Once you have a lot of movies, the navigation is quite tricky.

Possible solutions are to:
- have optional subnesting by year.
- have optional alphabetical subnesting, where the user can specify maximum titles per subnest (so letters A-E could be grouped if there are less than the maximum movies in that group, followed by F-M which cover the next up to 20 movies, etc If one letter has more than 20 movies, then it is just shown as a single letter category)
- have new MoviesByYear, and MoviesGrouped high level categories, so the user has the option of searching as now, or by year, or by alphabetical group

Also the grouping should avoid mixing series and movies.

Hope this is useful.
