Zip, have you thought about having special hyperlink or Magnet URI scheme than can add content to Serviio
Not sure if you aware ed2k and other similar software used to do this to add content to their client from a webpage
Here is a wiki page - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ed2k_URI_scheme
I dont use bittorrent but AFAIK theres alot bittorrent client that uses it too

This will be little effort on adding this on Serviio as it "catches" specially formatted hyperlinks to it
This can be added to ServiiDB and users can easily share their links on the forum to be easily added to Serviio
Live Streams forums section seems to the busiest of people looking for valid streams, this will be perfect to add streams on quickly without selecting the wrong options or browsing the internet for a Thumbnail URL for streams

Examples:
  Code:
serviio://|url|rtmpe://82.76.39.75:80/sky/skysports|Sky Sports|/|Live Stream|/|Video|/

serviio://|url|http://gdata.youtube.com/feeds/api/users/RayWilliamJohnson/uploads|RWJ Videos|/|Online RSS/Atom feed|/|Video|/

It looks like it would be doable, at least on Windows

Excellent! :D
Really happy this can be added, would help so many users adding content, even i forget to choose "Web resource" or "live stream"
Do you want me to create a bitbucket ticket?

Ive not used these links since i dont use bittorrent or ed2k clients anymore
This link suggests magnet links works for Linux and Macs too
Has anyone got these on their linux box?
