Gapless playback

Would it be possible to get serviio+Denon AVR1912 to do gapless playback?

I have a few long recordings, that have been split at fixed times, disregarding song boundaries.
They are intended for systems that can do gapless playback, but if Serviio and my Denon can be made to do that, I don't know.

Can Serviio do gapless playback?

Using 1.0beta3.

Not Serviio. The player might if it buffered the beginning of the next file before the current finishes, but I doubt it'll work.

Sorry to bump this up but I have the same issue/question on a different receiver. I've tried several apps on my iPad connecting to the receiver & iPad and they all have the same issue, although I did find differences in player. Playing on the iPad gave me the best gapless result, that is, the least gap, but poorest audio ;)

Why do you doubt it'll work? Is there simply not enough support for this in the dlna protocol? Is the difference in gap a sign in bad or poor design of the receiver? What would it take for gapless playback to work?

Doubt - I meant doubt they will implement it based on user feedback ;-) This is a renderer feature.

I assume in some scenarios you want the gap (e.g. songs on an album), with some you don't (DJ mix).
