cache for online feeds

Occasionally some stream brakes now and again and especially for HD channels.
I was wondering... considering all the hard work the software is already doing getting the source and even transcoding if needed, how about having and option to cache content?
E.g. if I watch a football match I really don't mind watch it with a 5 - 10 even 15 minuted delay as long as it doesn't brake up.
A little bit like tivo for online content....
