Photo Sequence

Apologies if this has already been raised, but I didn't find it on a quick search.
I am viewing photos stored on my PC, using serviio, on a networked TV. We tend to use more than one camera and then put all the photos on a particular topic into one folder on the PC. This means they can have a variety of different filename formats, depending on their source. On my PC I can order the photos by the date on which they were taken, and then view the album in that order. I'd like to be able to do the same when I view them on the TV. Is there a feature that will allow this (even if it means doing something at the PC end to configure the shared album)? I can't imagine the effort involved in renaming all the files so they have filenames that ascend in date/time taken order!

What if you use the Month or Year category, re they sorted correctly?

Where do I find these categories? I've been through all the tabs in serviio and can't find them.

Under Images. Check the Presentation tab in the console to make sure they are enabled.

Ah, yes, there are a series of categories enabled including year and month.
What I hadn't realised is that if I view the images under year or month on the display device within those folders they are ordered correctly by date and time taken: I was looking at the folders as they are structured on the file system.
So the basic sequencing problem is solved - many thanks.
I can still foresee a problem when I want to display the images on a particular subject (i.e. those within one folder on the PC). If they are adjacent in terms of date and time taken I can look on the PC to determine when they were taken and then navigate to the relevant year or month on the TV. However, if they are interleaved (in time) with shots on other subjects (i.e. in other folders) they will be jumbled together. I imagine it may be possible to fix this using image file metadata (e.g. giving them all a subject or somesuch under which they can be grouped for display purposes): I'll have to investigate the ins and outs of the other folders displayed on the TV ("Albums", "Playlists" and the like) and how they are used. As you can probably tell, I'm a bit of a novice when it comes to managing my photos for display purposes!
Thanks for pointing me in the right direction, anyway.

I'm struggling with the same / similar problem. Selected photos from my albums are organised in a slideshow - with a sequence I choose. I export these pictures to a directory in sequence for sharing and display.
To overcome the issue in Serviio I gave the exported images a sequential number as file name. But this does not seem to help.
I feel I might be missing something quite fundemental here. ....!?
Just discovered my classic mistake ... sequence is photo-1, photo-10, photo-100, photo-102, etc. Need to pad to 3 digits then all is OK photo-001, photo-002, etc! So no problem here!
