Disable notification on startup

On starting up my PC serviio has a notification pop up saying "serviio is now running".

I'd like a way to disable this. Is it possible?

Is there chance to have an option to enable or disable it in an upcoming version?

What's the problem with it?

I find it rather intrusive. Imagine if all your start up programs on your PC did this.

let me reverse the question - whats the need for it?

You could just stop the console from starting up automatically, it's only needed for configuration, it doesn't need to be running to use Serviio on your devices.

if the console isn't running, will serviio still update my library every 5 mins?

Yes, the console just changes settings by sending commands (which is why there are replacement apps etc that do the same as the console). The windows service does all of the work.

Console also checks for new version which is very useful.

One of the first things I do after installing Serviio, is to delete the Serviio Console shortcut from the Startup folder. I don't need the console to be running at start-up after it's all configured.

I've never thought about NOT having the console there, assuming it was necessary on top of the service. now I know better

This notification is extremely annoying. Now imagine every program does that. It would be great to see it gone.

That was my thoughts upon the initial feature request - i have 14 things in my system tray on startup and if they all told me they were running it'd be overkill.

Since posting this topic I opted to not run the console on start up but then missed a bug version update, plus I often need to refresh my library if something gets added and don't want to wait till the next refresh. so yeah, not starting the console is a work around but on installation it starts up by default so would be nice to have this notification disabled as an option.
