V2 versus V1.10

Hi All
Happily using V.10 for awhile now.
Only use it for home media server purposes with access by me from overseas.

Not sure what benefits are of V2 and releases over V1.10 given that I don't place an extraordinary and potentially probelmatic load upon the software other than < 20,000 files

Re: V2 versus V1.10

Upgrading to 2.x would require purchasing a new license, as all major upgrades (1.x, 2.x, 3.x, etc.) require. That said, the developer usually goes for many years between major version updates. I believe it was over 7 years for him to go from 1.x to 2.x.

The biggest change for 2.x was the introduction of user accounts. This allows restricting access to shared library locations by user, so non-kid safe media could be blocked/hidden from their viewing. There's been some improvements in some of the profiles, but that wouldn't do anything for your MediaBrowser remote access. 2.1, 2.2 and 2.2.1 were mostly some bug fixes from the 2.0previous releases.
