install problem

just downloaded this for my mac, when i open the console it sits in the tray and but when i open the other one it bounces a couple of times then disappears?
any help would be appreciated!!!

That is probably ok, the server application is probably just running in the background.

I am having exactly the same problem but it then goes on to say that the application is not responding. Any ideas?

This is a problem in Mac OS X and Java 8. The server is *not* running in the background.
If you launch by console you get:
$ open /Applications/serviio/Serviio.app/
LSOpenURLsWithRole() failed with error -10810 for the file /Applications/serviio/Serviio.app.

Also when ran manually, you get:
/Applications/serviio/Serviio.app/Contents$ ./MacOS/JavaApplicationStub
