Will there ever be a Java free version?

I really really like Serviio, but I really really don't like installing Java on my system.

I did a fresh install of Windows and vowed not to install any junk like Java and it's services and updaters that run in the background.

I'm just wondering if it's possible to have a Java free version of Serviio?

No. But the Java runtime will be bundled in future versions so you don't have to install anything separately.

Speaking of services and updaters that run in the background - you are fine with junk like Windows about that, it's just java that bothers you?

Anyway, Serviio is a server and you can install server java (without browser integration), which you won't notice you have and really needn't be updated at all for home use.
