converting AVI to M2TS

Hi,

I hjave many old Mini DV videos in DV format. I converted them into .avi.
But my TV cannot work with AVI (P50VT20E from Panasonic) streamed by Serviio - so I converted into M2TS. Then it works

Is this a good way of converting it (AVI into M2TS) ?
OR do you recommend other formats ?
