I have a D8000 and I get an incompatible file format error when I try to stream .mp4 files to it via serviio. I also have a BD-D5500 and I'll try to stream to that and post the results.

The Samsung BluRay player worked w/the Samsung profile, so I went back and tried w/the D8000 TV and that worked too. I then started playing content and it looks like .wmv files played on the TV creates problems for content played afterwards (they work ok on the player though).

I use it on my d8000, no problem to connect, no problem to open file, but i have problem to play it...
Every 1 or 2 second play stop and buffering... it's normal?
I use serviio on pc with atom and ion with 4gb ram and w7 64bit, attached on netgear dgnd3700, tv is connected in wifi 802.11n, files are .mkv fullhd size over 13Gb.

yer switch to a wired network rather than wifi and your router cant cope over wifi.

online transcoding hasnt been setup yet for D series, try using the B series profile and see if they then work.

The C/D series profile is additive to the B series profile which is additive to the default profile so any AVC you tube streams (.mp4 and .flv) will be transcoded to MPEG2-PS. Like you however, I also have a D series TV and my transcoded .mp4 to MPEG2-PS get the same error. I have opened a ticket on this. However the D will play .mp4 natively so just comment out the .mp4 lines in profiles 1 and 2 under on-line transcoding and your youtubes should play. Let me know if this works.

Phil, that does not match my experience. Using the C/D profile (7) (which has no on-line transcoding section), my online .mp4 sources are being transcoded to MPEG-PS per the B (2) profile which overrides the MPEG-TS transcoding in the default (1) profile. At least it seems that way. I can't see any other way.

Thats true if you are using "low quality" for on-line,because youtube uses H263.flv's for those but its a bug unique to the D series TV's.
See ticket #429 https://bitbucket.org/xnejp03/serviio/issue/429/samsung-d-series-tv-wont-play-transcoded

Switch to "medium quality" where youtube uses avc and they will play fine.

I have opened Ticket #432 requesting that the Samsung profiles be corrected to support proper on line playback for the D series. https://bitbucket.org/xnejp03/serviio/issue/432/samsung-c-d-series-on-line-transcoding

I have tried low, medium and high quality, but it didn't worked in any case. I'll try again with the firmware that just came out today...

Whats the firmware number. My D550 has the original 1009 level dated Feb/2011, and the online update says it is current.
The Samsung site however says the latest for my D series TV is 1018 dated September but i have not installed it because online is not indicating it is required.

Please post your firmware version and how it is working.

Also post your YouTube feed url so I can test it here.

PS: to all you D series users. Are you willing to join me in testing D Series capabilities? I would provide files via Rapidshare for you to play and report results. This would let us build a more complete list of Features/Problems/Workarounds that I have started at http://forum.serviio.org/viewtopic.php?f=10&t=3618, and also to verify bugs for zip that I have reported in the issue log https://bitbucket.org/xnejp03/serviio/issues/
