Re: How to stream online video to TV?

I don't know of any application that permits selecting different streams for streaming via DLNA. You can configure an app like VLC to provide a single stream, but the end user won't have any ability to change to a different stream. That's because the stream must be configured at the server end, which means at the VLC app. I've never played with it myself, but to my understanding it only provides a stream from a single source, and to change the source feed you much configure that on VLC itself.

Re: How to stream online video to TV?

To stream arbitrary online video streams from a Linux PC to a TV on demand through DLNA, you can use DLNA-compatible software or applications that allow media sharing and streaming. One such popular software is "Rygel," which is available for Linux systems.

Serviio does all of that. I was referring to the DLNA server not having an ability to "change channels" so to speak for an online source. Yes, you can configure individual online content, and Serviio will list each one separately. But there's no way to select a different stream that isn't already configured in Serviio. And I am quite certain Rygel is the same way.
