Thanks - were able you to get the sources for Zip's specific versions of ffmpeg and librtmp? I need them to build the Synology NAS package. I only have older ones I think.

It should be up now, will keep monitoring. In the meantime, if anyone knows a reliable file hosting service/website I'm interested

The links are still down ... but I managed to get the 0.6 linux code from the above link. Is it safe to assume that we can use the original ffmpeg, librtmp and lame source code until this issue is solved? Are the versions hosted here patched in any way?

Zip - maybe torrents are the way forward. You publish the MD5s so that's a reasonable guarantee of authenticity (though isn't SHA1 harder to tamper?).

If I can figure out why my serviio server will not seed properly with The linux Torrent Program, I could seed the torrents for months.

I've made some changes to the download server, hopefully should now serve more clients. Also looking on a mirroring options. Torrents are nice, but I want people to come to the download page and click the banner

I forgot about that. I kind of always assume that they pay so badly as to be negligable. My blog is hosted on Wordpress.com so they have the right to put ads on my content. When I set it up I read up on whether it was worth going self-hosted to get ad revenue and I found a few articles saying that even with big popular blogs, the revenue just about breaks even on the hosting costs. Most popular blog authors make money buy pimping their own book.

well the dropbox worked for me I even have a blog with all my media and zip's hosted via them (used that to help out )It even allows you to stream video/audio
Its great for beta's aswell because if you open a project and then save it again the updated ver is auto update as soon as dropbox updates it via a small program running on your computer www.dropbox.com

I think we're ok now, I also have a possible mirror from the JDownloader guys.
