Which media player should I buy?

Hi everyone,
I have a Phillips TV that has no ethernet interface. So, I want to buy a media player for connecting to serviio and then streaming content to my TV. The thing is that there are many different models and brands. A friend has a WD TV Live Plus (one of the cheapest in the market) but we tested it with serviio and instead of having a profile at the console, the subs doesn't work. So I want to buy one that works perfectlly with this server. Anyone could help me? I have to tell you that Im from Argentina, and the price of the device I choose, I have to multiply by 4.32. So I don't want to spend a lot of money, I was looking at WD TV Live HUB, that is around U$S250. What do you think? Is there a better one in that price that works with serviio?
Hope you can help me.
Thank you!
