Re: Just bought a......

did you verify the IP addresses? Set the Samsung to a static IP address in the same range as serviio server.

Post serviio log.

Re: Just bought a......

For future reference the current Sony UK Blu-ray models are:

BDP-S185
Small low end model
Wired Lan
On-Line services/channels

BDP-S380
Full size entry model
Wired Lan
On-Line services/channels

BDP-S480
Full size 3D model
Wired Lan
On-Line services/channels
DNLA

BDP-S580
Full size 3D model
Wired Lane + Wi-Fi
On-Line services/channels
DNLA

BDP-S780
Full size 3D model
Wired Lane + Wi-Fi
On-Line services/channels
DNLA
Extra web browsing capability

All of these models can be readily De-regioned (DVD playback only) with a One-for-All remote and code as found on web search

Some are available with dual-boot chip for multi-region Blu-ray but expect to pay around £180 plus cost of player.

It is important to carry out a software update, then web services update upon installing to get all features.

Re: Just bought a......

Makes me wonder what the best bluray player around that has dlna for use with serviio and as many codecs as is possible for limiting transcoding for the cheapest price that is available in the uk. I have a PS3 but with it not playing mkv files im looking for cheap alternates. The BDP-S480 sounds ideal ill see if i can pick it up for under a £100 :D

Re: Just bought a......

I'm not sure which codecs they have. There seem to be updates every month or so which makes printed literature out of date. What I have noticed is that if they find a DLNA server i.e Serviio, they latch onto it to the extent that when that when they are used on another network they still show the server, but greyed out. I've not found out yet how to clear that.
