Hi Guys

I currently have a Serviio running that i use to stream all my movies and TV shows to my PS3 in the theatre room and my android phone/tab

Im looking at converting one of my old netbooks which has a SSD HD in to a fast booting media centre reciver which i can plug in to the TV in the bedroom - connected to the my home wireless and stream my TV/Movies

Can anyone recommend a OS (Linux/Windows) and a piece of software to do this? obviously the faster booting the better

Thanks

Adam

you could give xbmc live a try. I think xbmc live boots right into it's interface with a small OS foot prints.

Note: If xbmc live is not an option for your netbook, you can still load xmbc by loading unbuntu live for netbook first and then xbmc package after.

Have a look here http://lifehacker.com/5391308/build-a-silent-standalone-xbmc-media-center-on-the-cheap as an example.
